International production services across Spain, from initial scouting through to wrap.
Silver Snow Studios provides local expertise for foreign agencies, production companies, and brands shooting commercials, branded content, fashion films, and automotive campaigns across Spain. Our team works fluently in English and Spanish, bridging the gap between international creative teams and local crews, suppliers, and authorities.
Based in Marbella with operational reach across all of mainland Spain and the islands, we handle permits, locations, crew, equipment, casting, logistics, and post-production coordination. Whether you are shooting a single-day stills campaign or a multi-week commercial production, we tailor the service level to match your brief and budget.
- Filming permits: We manage applications to municipal film offices, regional authorities (Junta de Andalucia, Generalitat de Catalunya, Comunidad de Madrid), the national film institute ICAA, DGT for road closures and Guardia Civil coordination, AESA for drone flight authorisation, and heritage-site permits. Typical municipal permits take two to six weeks; national park or protected-site permits may require four to eight weeks.
- Location scouting: Urban backstreets, Mediterranean coastline, Tabernas desert (Europe's only true desert, popular for automotive campaigns), historic architecture (Alhambra, Seville's Alcazar, Barcelona's Gothic Quarter), modern infrastructure, and studio facilities. We provide location packs with photos, GPS coordinates, permit status, and access logistics.
- Local crew: Access to experienced bilingual crews across all departments: camera (ACs, DITs, Steadicam operators), grip and electric (gaffers, best boys, rigging), art department, wardrobe and styling, hair and makeup, SFX, stunts, and on-set production coordination.
- Casting: Talent sourcing through established Spanish casting agencies, self-tape sessions, in-person callbacks, and extras coordination for large-scale commercial shoots.
- Equipment rental: Camera systems including ARRI Alexa 35 and Mini LF, RED V-Raptor, and Sony Venice 2. Full lighting packages (Nanlux, ARRI, Aputure), grip, camera cars, tracking vehicles, cranes, drones (DJI Inspire 3, Alta X), and specialised rigs. Coordination with rental houses across Madrid, Barcelona, and Malaga.
- Logistics: Airport transfers, equipment customs and carnet ATA handling, accommodation, transport, basecamp and unit management, catering, and daily call sheet coordination.
- Post-production coordination: Editing, colour grading, sound design, VFX supervision, and deliverables management with Spanish post houses or your preferred international facility.
- Tax rebate: 30% on the first 1M EUR of eligible spend, 25% thereafter (Article 36.2 LIS, administered by ICAA). Up to 54% in the Canary Islands and up to 60% in the Basque Country.
